DON’T BUY IT AT AMAZON. Amazon not only charge me $8 shipping cost for returning, but also CHARGE ME $65.50 RESTOCKING FEE(15% from original price) despite the fact that the computer is totally in the original condition. $65 IS A LOT OF MONEY. I didn’t know it otherwise I would never bought it at Amazon. As far as I know, other online computer sellers would not charge you such a high restocking fee.

I bought a laptop at a local Staples, they accepted the computer and refunded me full money for a computer of the same price.

I would never buy any electronic at Amazon again.

I would truly love this product except I am on dial-up and nothing tells the NOVICE BUYER that to get e-mail, or even ON THE INTERNET, you have to BUY an ADDITIONAL MODEM and ATTACH IT to the machine. I was aware that I would have to get an additional external disk drive or card if I wanted to do backups but was not aware, since all talk was how great it was for surfing the internet and getting e mail, that with dial up I would have to drag around extra hardware!! NOW, I am told, when I use it to check e mail or on the internet I will have to attach a modem to the computer and in having to do that the machine loses all its advantages. I am sure where you have high speed or wireless it is great, but for those of us with dial up it is disapointing, Otherwise this would probably be a 5 star for me. I just do not use it because of this situation and am a bit sorry that I shelled out the funds for it.

Just received it today, very cute, will follow up over weekend after I use it for a week. But one thing I would like to know is anyone notice that the fan’s noise after turn on the netbook? Or just only mine!

Well I have now owned both the Acer Aspire One and the MSI Wind.

The Acer is very pretty and has nicer styling than the MSI. The Acer keyboard keys also feel nicer but are not spaced as well. The battery life of the Acer is better at almost 6-7 hrs versus 4.5-5 hrs for the MSI.

The price of the Acer was less than the MSI but price is not everyting as you will soon see.

The Acer soon after receiving started making a beep from the main board and not the speakers about once every 30-45 minutes. I contacted Acer and they said it had a hardware fault and needed to be sent back.

I also noticed that the laptop was slower when surfing web pages than any of my other laptops and also was just slower in general than the MSI.

The screen of the Acer is smaller and does make does not dispaly full web pages as the MSI does. The 10″ screen on the MSI makes a big difference for ease of viewing. The build quality of the Acer does not feel as good as the MSI.

At first I thought that the protective sleeve for the Acer was nice until I saw the one that MSI provided. The MSI one is very well padded and is white with pink beading-very nice.

    PROS: Battery life is longer

    Keys on keyboard feel better

    More stylish than the MSI

CONS: Screen does not allow full web page to be viewed

Screen is smaller and not as easy to view

The cooling fan and hardrive are much louder on the Acer

Build quality does not feel as good on the Acer

Is slower than others when surfing the internet

Laptop in general is slower than the MSI even though they share the

    same cpu and memory

Speakers do not sound as good on the Acer

I would recommend the MSI even though it cost more.

The battery lasts only 2 hours. Sound driver is not working stably. It’s annoying not being able to listen to music or watch movies. I like the color. Pink looks prettier than blue or white.
